Employment Immigration And Work Permits

The Immigration and Nationality Act allows employers to hire non-immigrants in specialty occupations that require unique skill sets and knowledge. The H-1B visa allows non-immigrant specialists in areas such as architecture, engineering, medicine, education, accounting, and other fields to work up to 6 years in the United States. In addition to a bachelor`s degree, qualified H-1B applicants must also have an employer willing to sponsor them.

Currently, however, only 65,000 H-1B visas are issued each year. There are an additional 20,000 for those who have a degree from a college in the United States. Since the H-1B visa is limited, it`s essential that your paper work be complete, accurate, and submitted on time. If the H-1B visa is over-subscribed when you apply, you may be able to enter under an E-2, E-3, L-1, or O-1 visa. As your attorney, Anser Ahmad will evaluate your options and explain other alternative visas available to you.
